Reflect
God’s call brings out the best in each person.
A young man or woman who follows God’s call
will grow in openness and humanity.
The call of Jesus is for life more abundant.
Do you find a leap of joy in thinking of priesthood or ministry as a deacon,
an excitement of giving your life as a religious,
a sense of peace about marriage and family life?
Like the sunrise after the darkness,
or the sunshine after rain,
or the reconciliation after bitterness,
following God’s call brings real joy, change, and newness.
It is felt in the joy of the heart, and in the desire to be like Jesus, the Christ in the world.
It’s felt also in deep trust:
God’s faithfulness is like the lighthouse in the fog,
like the support of a friend in times that are tough,
like the touch of a hand in the dark.
May we all have the courage to follow what is best and right in our lives,
and joy in knowing that real life is life in God’s company. Amen.
Prayer to Our Lady
Holy Mary, Mother of God, you have given the world its true light, Jesus, your Son – the Son of God. You abandoned yourself completely to God’s call and thus became a wellspring of the goodness which flows  forth from him.

Show us Jesus. Lead us to him. Teach us to know and love him, so that we too can become capable of true love and be fountains of living water in the midst of a thirsting world, Amen.
Prayer for young people discerning their Vocation
God, I know you love me and are calling me to choose life. But sometimes, I am overwhelmed by the thoughts of my future.

Help me to listen to your call, in all the ways you speak to me: through prayer and the scriptures, through the Church and the circumstances of my life, through those who love and care for me, and through my own hopes and desires.

Guide me to search openly and learn about life’s choices, so that I may respond generously to your call, and choose the vocation and career that will enable me to love wholeheartedly, and serve others with the special gifts you have given me.

God, today, I thank you for your love and for all things, Amen.
